Q-Do you have designing capabilities?
A-Yes, we would be happy to assist in the design of your parts to drive out cost. Please contact us as early as possible in the design process.
Q- What type of engineering software do you use?
A-Our primary platform is Autocad, however we can take files in multiple formats, and convert them to Autocad. You can send your drawings in the following formats: DWF, DWG, DXF.
Q-Do you give free estimates?
A-We do give free estimates for your projects. Just e-mail, or whatsapp (+919833145152) your drawings or sketches over, and we’ll get to work on your estimate right away.
Q- What do I need to provide in order to get a quote?
A-Please submit whatever information you have, along with quantities required, and we will work on pricing for you. The more information you provide, the more accurate the pricing will be.
Q-Can you help me fill in the gaps in my design?
A-Yes, We help with design ideas daily and are happy to assist.
Q-What are your lead times?
A- Our lead times are based on a per-project basis, but we are flexible in our approach:
*We can expedite orders
*Lead time depends on part
*Generally we have a 3 week lead time
*Lead time can be negotiable
*We do rush orders, charged higher though
Q-Do you offer plant tours so we understand your capabilities?
A-We welcome plant tours at Taheri’s. We are proud of custom metal fabricating abilities and would be glad to demonstrate our capabilities. Just contact us and we can set up a tour.
Q- Do you offer warranties?
A-Yes. We offer a one-year warranty on our steel fabricated products. We are also fully insured with significant bonding capacity.
Q-Are there national standards used in welding and fabrication?
A-Yes. Our certifications and qualifications include ISI certification.
Q-Do you apply protective coatings to your steel fabricated products?
A-Yes. We apply various types of painting, coatings and linings to our products on request. Including epoxy, vinyl, enamel, coal tar, zinc etc.
Q-Do you do work on stainless counters and kitchen equipment?
A-We do welding and polishing of stainless steel in our shop or on job sites. We install commercial kitchen equipment and hoods.
Q-Are you capable of fabricating your products with various types of steel and metal?
A-Yes. We fabricate in most metals and alloys specified by the customer, including cold rolled, hot rolled, galvanized, stainless steel, high strength, low alloy steel and most alloys. We also fabricate in aluminum, brass and copper.
Q-Can I have scratch free sheet metal components?
A- Yes, with some sheet metal materials. All grades of aluminum and stainless steel can be sourced with a protective plastic peel able film on either one side or both sides of the sheet, known as PC1 or PC2. These plastic films on the sheet metal do help to reduce the chances of damage in handing in a manufacturing work shop environment. Unfortunately sheet metal work manufactured from mild steel and galvanized steels do not have this option available.
Q-What are the benefits of steel?
A- Cost – Steel has a high strength to weight ratio which causes reduced foundation costs. Faster construction saves on labor costs. Plus, long-term costs are reduced because steel structures don’t require much inspection and maintenance.
Time – Apart from faster construction, prefabrication gives you more control over the project’s time flow. This allows for more efficient project management.
Design versatility – Steel can be easily molded into any form. This gives the building’s architects incredible scope for creativity in producing innovative designs. The strength of structural steel means that it’s possible to build long spans without support columns.
Adaptability – Steel framing can be easily extended horizontally or vertically. Support beams can be strengthened without reducing floor space. This makes extending or converting the building much easier than concrete structures.
Health and safety – Steel is fire resistant and mold resistant.
Environmental benefits – 90% of all structural steel is recycled making it one of the most environmentally friendly building material.
Q-Do you do on-site welding?
A- Yes, we are fully set up for on-site welding as part of our installation process. We are set up for MIG, TIG and stick welding of steel, stainless and aluminum.
Q-What is welding?
A-Welders play an extremely important part in fabrication shops. Welding is the method of joining two pieces of metal. This is done by applying extreme heat to soften the material and then apply pressure against the two items to unite them together in a melded state.
The welder must first inspect the engineered blueprint. Then, the welder will use a gas torch to fuse the joints of the sheet material. This is a complex process and it demands the undivided attention of the welder. If an unskilled person were working on this, it could result in the metal warping due to the high degree of heat.
Q-Do you perform food-grade welding?
A- Yes, we perform food-grade fabrication that includes welding and polishing. We typically work in food-processing plants building spouts and hoppers. We work on these items here at our plant and on the job sites.
Q- What sheet metal materials can you spot weld?
A- We can spot weld mild steel, galvanized steel and stainless steel.
Q-What precautions to take with structural steel projects?
A- Precautions to taken:
Corrosion – Structures that are exposed to harsh climatic conditions, like marine projects, require corrosion resistant alloys. However, other structures may also be vulnerable to corrosion. You should check whether the structure needs to be treated against corrosion with paint or other products.
Fire Resistant – Steel doesn’t easily catch on fire, making it a safe choice. However other materials within the building may result in fires. Very high temperatures caused by fires can weaken steel, causing it to soften and buckle. For this reason it’s advisable to insulate steel used in the structure against heat damage.
